Women in Technology
"People with passion can change the world..."
-Steve Jobs-
Passion is everything you need. Following your passion is the key to overcoming the setbacks and build your career. If you’re not passionate about your ideas, nobody else will be. Modern technology and business is an area considered to be dominated by men. However, many inspirational women have stepped up to show that not only men can make a difference in the world. It's not about the gender, it's about the passion you have in succeeding your life and exploring what's in front of you.
Sheryl Sandberg
According to the Forbes Magazine, Chief Operating Officer of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg has been named the most powerful woman in technology on the 2015 Forbes' Power Women list, and with an overall ranking of number eight. Before she joined Facebbok, she was Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google and was involved in launching Google's philanthropic arm, Google.org. She is not only a billionaire executive, but also a great philanthropist.
Susan Wojcicki
The second place in the list of most powerful women in technology was taken by Chief Executive Officer of YouTube, Susan Wojcicki with an overall ranking as number nine. Wojcicki, was also named to Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in 2015 and was described as the most powerful woman on the internet.
Ginni Rometty
The third place in the tech list goes to Ginni Rometty. She is the current Chairwoman, President and Chief Executive Officer of IBM and the fist woman to head the company. Previously she has held the positions of Senior Vice President and Group Executive for Sales, Marketing and Strategy at IBM.
At present, many role models have stepped forward to represent women in technology, which is a very good sign. They have demonstrated that women can be a driving force for innovation and novel ideas in technology. Though reports show that only a quarter of the of technology related jobs are held by women, we should appreciate their effort in trying to make a difference on behalf of all the women in the world.
